FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

It’s my First time with therapy, what can i expect?

After our initial contact you’ll complete intake paperwork online prior to the first session.

When you reach the office, have a seat in the waiting room. I will be out to meet you when your session is scheduled to start. My goal the first session is to better understand what brought you to therapy and offer insight into how I can help you on your journey.

We will work together to determine the changes that will best support your progress. Therapy can be very active, involving guidance and homework, or more reflective, allowing you to explore your situation at your own pace. The approach will be tailored to be the most beneficial for you.

WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?

We work with adult individuals and couples throughout all stages of life. Specialties include people who struggle with anxiety or chronic worry and stress, relational therapy, navigating early adulthood, motherhood, trauma/PTSD, and EMDR. If you're facing challenges beyond our listed specialties and feel we could be a good match, please reach out to discuss your needs.

WHAT IS HOLISTIC THERAPY?

Holistic therapy is a comprehensive approach to mental health treatment that addresses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Unlike traditional therapy, which often focuses solely on psychological aspects, holistic therapy recognizes that mental health is interconnected with physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Techniques such as mindfulness are often used to enhance the mind-body connection, helping clients manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. Holistic therapy also focuses on prevention and integrates various therapeutic approaches to address underlying issues and promote long-term well-being. This approach helps clients develop healthier coping mechanisms and a deeper understanding of themselves. Read more here.

how long does therapy last?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Length of time in therapy varies on current stressors, barriers, motivation for change and ultimately goals.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently accept Optum (United Health Care & Western Health Advantage). For all other insurance plans, we are considered an out-of-network provider on most PPO insurance plans. Most clients are able to receive partial reimbursement from their insurance company for the cost of their sessions. How to seek reimbursement:

Call your insurance company and ask:

  • Will you reimburse for mental health service providers that are out of network?

  • Do I have a deductible to meet before you will reimburse?

  • Have I met any portion of that deductible yet?

  • What is the reimbursement rate?

Once you verify your benefits, you will be responsible for sessions fees on day of appointment, and then once a month I will provide you with a superbill (aka receipt), which you submit to your insurance company. They will mail you a check for your reimbursement amount. Some insurance companies have an online portal where you can upload a photo of your superbill and it will be processed relatively quickly.

wHAT ARE your RATES IF I DONT HAVE OR WANT TO USE MY INSURANCE?

$175 for a 50-minute individual session

$200 for couples therapy or family therapy

$250 for 90-minute session

Do you offer reduced rate or sliding scale?

Yes! We offer limited reduced rate slots.
